The Alberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind (ASRAB) is a volunteer organization dedicated to the provision of recreation and sports opportunities for Albertans who are blind or partially sighted.
ASRAB members have competed in every Paralympic Games since their inception in 1976. They have competed in numerous World Championships in goalball, swimming, athletics, lawn bowls, wrestling, and powerlifting. Our athletes set world records, are Olympic Champions, and are Canadian champions and medalists.
We have held sports camps and conducted local, provincial and national competitions. We've hosted 3 International Goalball Events and attended 31 years of Canadian Championships.
But in order to make all of this happen, we need people. People who support us, whether by volunteering, organizing, donating or participating in these events. Because that is what ASRAB stands for: the people.
